We’re a family of five living in the far north tundra of Alaska, where winter lasts nearly seven months and the environment is unforgiving. The air is dry, the wind is relentless, and the cold exposes weakness quickly—both in people and in products. Summers bring long days beneath a never-setting sun, demanding formulas that can adapt rather than overwhelm.

Like many families, we trusted what the market promised. “Luxury” and “specialty” skincare brands claimed performance, but time and again they left our skin dry, cracked, and undernourished. When we looked closer, the pattern was obvious: water-heavy formulas, alcohols, synthetic fillers, and ingredients designed more for shelf life and margins than real skin health.

So we stopped buying. And we started building.
