Science Made Practical

Kenny’s professional career has focused on translating nutrition science into practical strategies for health, performance, and readiness.

His work with the Army’s Holistic Health and Fitness system puts that philosophy into practice every day, helping Soldiers understand how nutrition, recovery, training, and health behaviors influence their ability to perform in demanding environments.

Whether working with Soldiers, athletes, patients, or consumers, Kenny approaches education the same way: understand the evidence, acknowledge what it can and cannot tell us, and turn it into information people can actually use.

Frozen People

Kenny’s Role at Frozen People

Frozen People began at home in Alaska. Kenny’s wife and Frozen People founder, Katie Sheafer, BSN, RN, became frustrated with the moisturizers their family had been using and decided to create something better herself.

Katie developed the original formula that would eventually become Frozen People Body Butter. As she got closer to the formula she wanted, Kenny became involved in helping test, tweak, and refine it.

As Frozen People grew from Katie’s homemade solution into a company, Kenny’s background in research, healthcare, nutrition, and scientific communication became an increasingly important part of the brand.

Today, he helps guide Frozen People’s approach to ingredient research, product education, scientific communication, and the evaluation of health and skincare claims.

Kenny believes consumers deserve to understand not only what is in the products they use, but why it is there and what the available evidence actually supports.

"Science is most valuable when people can understand it, question it, and actually put it into practice."

Beyond the Credentials

Family, Training & Life in Alaska

Kenny and Katie live in Alaska with their three children, where Frozen People was born and continues to grow as a family business.

Outside of his professional work, Kenny is an avid martial artist and lifelong fitness enthusiast. Training has remained a constant throughout his life and continues to shape his interest in human performance, recovery, nutrition, and long-term health.

When he isn’t working with Soldiers, writing about science, training, or helping build Frozen People, he is usually spending time with his family or finding another reason to get outside.
